Job Summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Manager, Contracting Services. This position will be responsible for supporting senior management in executing core Vendor Relations tasks and activities for a designated business unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and edit reports for MTA agency executives and senior staff on matters related to delivering the MTA's Capital Program.
  • Ensure that vendor relations properly files document findings and provides the decision-making process is followed to promote the efficient operation of the vendor relations department.
  • Assist in the review and approval of vendor responsibility checks and the identification of potential Substantial Adverse Information (SAI).
  • Complete and review documents in connection to the vendor background check process, including research material and findings.
  • Assist in the management and support of vendor background check process to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Assist in the Vendor Relations process, allocation of assignments, and management and development of innovative IT resources that expedite and create efficiency regarding the methods utilized by the Vendor Relations Division.
  • Mentor and train staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Finance, Law, Government Contracting or other related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • Experience working in and with public sector procurement management principles, government project administration, and government bid process.
  • Proven experience working on matters involving public works projects, construction projects, and real estate matters.
  • Knowledge of contract and vendor relation terminology, procurement, and terms and conditions.
  • Familiarity and experience with relevant local, state, and federal laws, including federal and state procurement laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite and document management software.
What We Offer

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority offers a competitive salary range of $90,908 to $119,317 and a comprehensive benefits package.
