Lead Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgeon APP to deliver exceptional care to patients with diseases of the liver, pancreas, bile duct, and gallbladder. As one of the largest and most sophisticated HPB programs in the country, we utilize the latest surgical techniques and technologies to achieve the best possible outcomes.
The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively. They should be able to work collaboratively with experts from other medical specialties, including Medical Oncology, Gastroenterology/Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, and Interventional Radiology.
We offer a comprehensive compensation package, estimated at around $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
In this role, you will function primarily in an inpatient setting, caring for acute and chronically ill patients after surgical procedures such as whipples, major liver resections, liver microwave ablations, distal pancreatectomies, complex cholecystectomies, and biliary reconstructions.
The core responsibilities of the HPB APP include:
- Performing initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and recording findings
- Assisting with new consults and admissions, daily assessments, and determining treatment plans
- Writing prescriptions, administering medications, ordering laboratory and radiology examinations, and documenting patient encounters
- Participating in group meetings, contributing to standard procedure development, and engaging in evidence-based research initiatives
To be eligible for this position, candidates must hold a DEA license, be certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, and have experience working in a similar role. A Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice is preferred for Nurse Practitioners, while certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is preferred for Physician Assistants.
