Atrium Health is a leading community-focused academic healthcare system serving North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our Department of Surgery team at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity to work in one of the largest and most sophisticated Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) programs in the country. Our team uses the latest surgical techniques and technologies to deliver exceptional care to patients with complex surgical diseases and disorders of the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, and duodenum.

Responsibilities
  • Perform initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and record findings
  • Assist with new consults and admissions, and daily assessment on intensive care, progressive, and floor patients
  • Determine treatment plans for complex and high-risk cancer patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
  • Write prescriptions, administer medications, order and interpret laboratory and radiology examinations
  • Document patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner
Requirements

Must have or be eligible for a DEA license and approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of North Carolina. BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions.

Education and Certifications

Nurse Practitioner: Masters Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required, License to practice as a Registered Nurse required, Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. ACNP board certification preferred based population served. Physician Assistant: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; Masters Degree preferred, Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $120,000 - $180,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
