Atrium Health, the leading community-focused academic healthcare system in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join its Department of Surgery team at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery and a passion for delivering exceptional care to patients with complex surgical diseases and disorders of the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, and duodenum.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with HPB surgeons and other medical specialists to provide comprehensive care to patients. You will be responsible for performing initial and periodic medical histories, physical examinations, and assisting with new consults and admissions.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions. A strong critical thinking skillset and experience working in an acute setting are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial and periodic medical histories, physical examinations
  • Assist with new consults and admissions
  • Daily assessment on intensive care, progressive, and floor patients
  • Determine treatment plans for complex and high-risk cancer patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
  • Write prescriptions and administer medications
  • Order and interpret daily laboratory and radiology examinations
Requirements:
  • Must have or be eligible for a DEA license
  • Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in SC required
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice
Education and Certifications:

Masters Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required for Nurse Practitioners. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. ACNP board certification preferred based population served.

Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; Masters Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.

Estimated annual salary: $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
