Arena Control Room Coordinator

The Arena Control Room Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the arena's control room equipment and systems, including Building Management Systems (BMS), lighting, HVAC, and fire systems. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain the proper functioning of control room equipment and systems.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities, including coordination of loading dock entry and parking.
  • Log all arena building emergencies and notify Arena Management and/or Public Safety Department.
  • Answer the main Arena Control Room phone line and open the loading dock gate.
  • Monitor BMS systems, including lighting, HVAC, and fire alarm, under the direction of the Director of Operations.
  • Check radios in and out to staff daily, as needed.
  • May assist with interpreting signals from CCTV communications and alarm activations and initiating appropriate action.
  • Operate a forklift at the arena loading dock, as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in control room operations, emergency dispatch, and coordination in a facility with high-volume events/activities preferred.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations regarding safety and security of public facilities.
  • Cooperative, collaborative, and team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service-oriented and demonstrates positive customer service in all interactions.
  • Familiar with MS Office Suite, specifically MS Word and MS Outlook.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays to support the arena's event-driven schedule.
  • Understanding of national fire code protocols as it pertains to a building of public assembly.
