Job Summary and QualificationsEmergency Room nurses encounter a wide range of cases, from heart attacks and strokes to traumatic injuries and fractures.
They are trained to swiftly assess patients based on immediate observations and acute assessment skills, prioritizing treatment based on life-threatening conditions.
About the Unit:
Our 23-bed department boasts excellent teamwork.
Our shared governance council in the Emergency Department, along with staff involvement in hospital governance, empowers our nurses to influence decisions that affect both the department and the hospital.
As an accredited chest pain center, comprehensive stroke center, and level one trauma center, we handle some of the most complex cases, providing an exceptional learning environment for all nurses.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse
- Registered Nurse Diploma
- Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses, Trauma Nursing Core Course, or TNCC Instructor certification must be obtained within one year of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within one year of employment start date.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
