Job Title: Peer Mentor Coordinator

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Peer Mentor Coordinator to join our team at Cumberland River Behavioral Health, Inc. As a Peer Mentor Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supervising the Peer Mentor Team and providing support to clients in our program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Peer Mentor Team and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Teach or assist in teaching Recovery Dynamics sessions
  • Initiate client files and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Complete client orientations and progress notes
  • Monitor client health and refer to health service providers as necessary
  • Share on-call responsibilities and work in areas assigned by the Program Director
  • Collaborate with other Program Coordinators/Case Managers in program development and client consultation
  • Provide counseling, feedback, and education to clients in collaboration with the Management Team
  • Participate in treatment team discussions and serve as a member of the Management Team
  • Respond to emergency situations in a timely and effective manner
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with other team members and independently as needed

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Physically able to reach, push, pull, stoop, stand, walk, and lift up to 20 pounds
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record
  • Maintain the required minimum vehicle insurance amount for the State of Kentucky, if required for job performance

The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions or may be off-site from the normal office location.

Environmental Data and Job Hazards:

  • Hours of work are structured 8.0 hour blocks of time but may be subject to irregular and/or flexible hours based on needs or demands
  • Position may require duties to include routine or reasonable anticipated tasks or procedures where there is a degree of actual or potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials
  • All staff are required to participate in yearly trainings regarding infection control and safety in the environment, including hazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens
  • All new staff must attend training regarding handling physical, verbal threats, acts of violence, or other escalating and potential dangerous situations, including when police need to be summoned
  • All staff must be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation within one month of employment and maintain the certification, if providing direct care
