Job Overview

Schulte Companies is in search of a Hotel Financial Specialist to become a vital part of our dedicated team in the hospitality sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct daily balancing of the Income Journal and finalize entries, collaborating with the night audit team to resolve any discrepancies or necessary adjustments.
  • Manage daily cash drop processing and prepare bank deposits efficiently.
  • Perform daily reconciliations of cashier and credit card deposits.
  • Assist in the monthly audits of house banks and their distribution.
  • Verify the coding of Accounts Payable invoices and submit them for processing, ensuring monthly reconciliation of vendor statements.
  • Generate Accounts Receivable invoices and distribute them to clients, maintaining precise records of collection efforts and payments.
  • Support the Regional Controller and Staff Accountant in the monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Compile month-end reports and data for the corporate accounting team, communicating any changes effectively.
  • Review weekly forecasts with the General Manager to address any reclassifications or accruals.
  • Provide necessary information and support for the annual budgeting process.
  • Ensure all reports are stored in compliance with the established retention policies.
  • Complete tasks within set deadlines.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain internal controls, providing communication when attention is required.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for our company and its values.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver exceptional service.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience preferred, particularly in a hospitality setting.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to various tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Capable of identifying problems, gathering data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Commitment to confidentiality regarding guest information and sensitive hotel data.
