Position Overview – Scientist

Nuanced Health is in search of a committed, motivated, and autonomous Scientist to join a dynamic research team focused on therapeutics for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). In this essential position, you will be tasked with: 1) conducting mouse IBD studies using advanced humanized models; 2) analyzing data and designing experiments; and 3) communicating preclinical findings to aid in the design and evaluation of next-generation IBD therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute in vivo mouse studies related to IBD.
  • Assess in vitro/ex vivo phenotypes utilizing techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA, IHC, and qRT-PCR.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of experimental methods and outcomes.
  • Develop, refine, and troubleshoot methodologies to address unmet experimental requirements.
  • Analyze and present study findings to project collaborators and teams.
  • Oversee and manage daily operations within the vivarium.
  • Deliver presentations of results at internal meetings and external conferences.

Qualifications and Skills

  • PhD in Immunology or a related field, or a BS/MS degree with relevant scientific/drug discovery experience and a proven record of scientific achievement.
  • Extensive experience in designing and conducting in vivo colitis models (DSS, CD45RBhi T cell transfer, IL-10 KO).
  • Proficient in the handling and care of mice, including various dosing methods (oral, IV, IP, SC) and the collection and analysis of blood and tissue samples.
  • Hands-on experience with cellular, biochemical, histological, and molecular biology assay techniques (e.g., flow cytometry, ELISA, qRT-PCR, cell culture).
  • A collaborative team player with strong individual contributions, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Skilled in statistical analysis and proficient with graphing software such as Graphpad Prism, FlowJo, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Committed to upholding high laboratory standards concerning safety and quality.
  • Knowledgeable in implementing study protocols in compliance with IACUC guidelines.
