Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at UCHealth. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for performing whole blood collection and apheresis procedures according to established regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Qualify donors according to established regulatory and laboratory guidelines through questionnaire review and clarification as well as evaluation of vitals.
  • Perform waived and moderate complexity testing in order to ensure the pre-donation safety of donors.
  • Execute whole blood collections and apheresis procurement of platelets, plasma, and red blood cells in accordance with AABB and FDA guidelines.
  • Process, label, store, and ship blood components in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
  • Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Completed phlebotomy training program through a health careers program.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
