Commercial Loan Closer III Overview

Peapack-Gladstone Financial is a leading boutique bank, renowned for its innovative approach to private banking and exceptional customer service. As a Commercial Loan Closer III, you will play a critical role in managing the closing process for various loan products, including Commercial Real Estate, Multifamily, Commercial and Industrial, Healthcare, Wealth, and Community Banking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely closings and manage the closing process from start to finish.
  • Execute a thorough closing process for all loan products, including new loans, amendments, extensions, modifications, and renewals.
  • Evaluate closing documentation to ensure all pre-closing conditions and issues have been addressed.
  • Confirm Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements have been met.
  • Determine and ensure adequate insurance coverage prior to closing, including flood determination.
  • Perform searches, escrow analysis, and escrow holdbacks as necessary.
  • Prepare, review, and approve the closing package and settlement statement.
  • Engage and manage vendors involved in the transaction.
  • Review legal documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare wires for funding and ensure funding was processed, including OFAC and callbacks.
  • Follow up with counsel if the full closing package is not received within 10 business days of closing.
  • Post-funding, complete the booking sheet in accordance with timeframes in the booking procedure.
  • Complete all checklists and hand-off collateral documents to loan operations.
  • Identify exceptions requiring post-closing follow-up.
  • Maintain awareness of legal and regulatory changes affecting closing procedures.
  • Escalate issues promptly and appropriately.
  • Assist with audit requests and special projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in a Commercial Lending Department or Bank Environment.
  • Significant knowledge of Commercial Lending Credit Agreements.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, both internal and external.
  • Detail-oriented with superior multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience with basic office programs and equipment, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Jack Henry System Silverlake and Syntrak a plus, but not required.
