POSITION SUMMARY:

  • This role as a Residential Cleaning Technician is integral to the Home Services team, which offers essential support to Residential Living clients through services such as cleaning, light meal preparation, and assistance with errands. The primary responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and floor care in private resident apartments, as well as in some communal areas and guest accommodations. Technicians may also receive training to assist in Supportive Living areas and Laundry services.

COMPENSATION:

  • The starting hourly wage for the Residential Cleaning Technician is $17.03, determined by prior experience and qualifications.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a rotating weekend schedule (typically every 7 weeks). Time off is generally provided when scheduled to work a weekend.
  • 80 hours per pay period (every two weeks).

Requirements:

As a condition of employment, VMRC mandates that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Candidates selected for a job offer will need to provide proof of vaccination or proof of prior vaccinations before starting work.

VMRC maintains a drug-free workplace and complies with all federal and state regulations. Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug screening as part of the pre-employment process.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English, and follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, lift, carry, or handle light materials (1-25 lbs.) frequently.
  • Occasional physical effort may be required for medium (26-60 lbs.) and heavy objects (over 60 lbs.).
  • Ability to work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changes.
  • Enjoyment of working with people, with a pleasant and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work efficiently and safely, encouraging others to do the same.
  • A valid Virginia Driver's License with an acceptable driving record is required if driving a VMRC vehicle.
  • Fluency in a second language is advantageous.
