POSITION SUMMARY:

  • This Custodial Services Technician role is integral to the Home Services team, which offers essential services to our Residential Living clients, including cleaning, light meal preparation, and assistance with errands. The primary focus of this position is to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance of private resident apartments, along with certain public areas and guest accommodations. Technicians may also receive training to assist in Supportive Living areas and Laundry services.
COMPENSATION:
  • The starting pay rate for the Custodial Services Technician is $17.03 per hour, contingent upon prior experience and qualifications.

WORK SCHEDULE:
  • 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a rotating weekend schedule (typically every 7 weeks). Time off is generally granted when scheduled to work a weekend.
  • 80 hours per pay period (every two weeks).
Requirements:

As a condition of employment, VMRC mandates that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Candidates selected for a job offer will need to provide proof of vaccination or receive the necessary vaccinations before their start date.

VMRC maintains a drug-free workplace and complies with all federal and state regulations. Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug screening as part of the pre-employment process.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend basic English, and follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be capable of standing, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, and handling light materials (1-25 lbs.) frequently.
  • Occasional physical effort is required for medium (26-60 lbs.) and heavy objects (over 60 lbs.).
  • Ability to work in reaching or strained positions for a significant portion of the day.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changes with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess a friendly and professional demeanor, enjoying interaction with others and maintaining tactful communication.
  • Ability to work efficiently and safely, encouraging others to do the same.
  • A valid Virginia Driver's License with an acceptable driving record is required for those who may need to operate a VMRC vehicle.
  • Fluency in a second language is advantageous.
