Position Overview


The Fitness Club Operations Supervisor will oversee the daily activities of the gym to guarantee an outstanding "Judgement Free" experience for all members while ensuring the club's financial success.

This role involves leading a team of staff members in a positive and motivating environment, focusing on continuous training and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, and nurture a high-performing team that includes Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
  • Create and uphold a welcoming environment for all members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring adherence to exceptional customer service standards.
  • Staff Management: Schedule employees and ensure all shifts are adequately covered.
  • Lead by example, maintaining accountability for direct reports through training and coaching, while ensuring alignment with company values and objectives.
  • Handle all aspects of weekly/bi-weekly employee payroll administration.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve issues effectively.
  • Manage disciplinary actions and termination processes.
Front Desk Operations

  • Answer phone calls in a friendly manner, assisting callers with various inquiries.
  • Check members into the system and facilitate new member sign-ups.
  • Conduct tours for prospective members.
  • Address all member requests, issues, and questions promptly.
  • Ensure timely opening and closing of the gym.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, taking responsibility for the largest section of daily cleaning.
  • Ensure the safety of employees, members, and club property.
  • Communicate equipment repair needs in a timely manner.
  • Manage marketing initiatives by ensuring staff is informed and trained on all promotions.
  • Authorize expenditures and process refunds, including daily bank deposits.
  • Prepare and submit all HR-related documentation to the Corporate Payroll Team.
  • Track and report statistics on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Provide backup support for any absent employee.
Qualifications

  • Exceptional customer service skills, preferably within the fitness sector.
  • Prior experience as an Assistant Manager at a fitness establishment.
  • Strong leadership, diplomacy, and listening abilities.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Suite).
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Current CPR Certification is mandatory.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk continuously during shifts.
  • Frequent verbal communication in person or via phone.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals during shifts.
