Job Summary

The IT Program Manager position works out of our Lake County, Illinois Headquarters located in the Abbott Nutrition Division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow, to keeping adult bodies strong and active.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and managing program and project performance, including financials, to ensure the portfolio is progressing as compared to the original plan budget.
  • Producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status.
  • Measuring performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget.
  • Tracking milestones, impediments, risks and issues.
  • Leveraging project delivery best practices to build detailed project plans ensuring dependencies and critical path are identified and stringently managed.
  • Partnering with IT BRMs (Business Relationship Managers) to understand ongoing project demand and balance against capacity.
  • Gathering lessons learned and obtaining final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline / Master's Degree preferred.
  • At least 9 years experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development or deployment, with a minimum of 6 years' experience managing large projects/programs.
  • Managing complex programs involving multiple projects managers and cross-functional development/testing teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience with MS Project.
  • Experience managing multiple projects / workstreams. Working in matrix global organization with strategic sourcing partners where success requires broad orchestration of resources and services.
  • Experience with GMP manufacturing for nutritional's, pharmaceuticals or similar industry.
  • Experience with technologies and best practices in project management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presenting, meeting facilitation, negotiation, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Executive stakeholder management experience.
About the Opportunity

This role is an IT Program Manager role focused on the delivery of Electronic Batch Record (EBR) to Abbott Nutritional manufacturing sites. This role is accountable for Program Management, with an emphasis on status reporting, financial and schedule tracking across multiple workstreams.
