Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Recreational Activities Coordinator is to support the design, execution, and assessment of engaging recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual activities, tailored to meet the individual needs of our residents, as outlined in their care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize activity spaces for scheduled programs, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in activity areas post-events.
  • Implement daily activities in accordance with each resident's care plan.
  • Procure supplies, clothing, and personal items for residents as needed.
  • Supervise residents during activities to enhance their physical, social, and mental well-being, utilizing your knowledge of their unique conditions.
  • Engage with residents in their rooms, providing companionship, assistance with correspondence, and support with crafts and projects.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience in a Long-Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
  • Demonstrated patience, tact, a cheerful demeanor, and enthusiasm in working with residents of varying maturity levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical capability to move throughout the facility during the workday.
