Job Summary
Community Options, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Butler, PA.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including daily routines, health monitoring, and community-based activities.
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as cleaning, cooking, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and report any health concerns or changes in the individual's condition.
- Participate in community activities, social events, and recreational programs to promote independence and socialization.
- Drive individuals to medical appointments and community activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of program activities and billable records.
- Build relationships with community members, businesses, and families to support the individual's needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to establish a supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
