Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Operations Specialist to join our team at J & J Worldwide Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining an operational engineering plant that provides essential services to our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plant Operations
    • Monitor and interpret readings on gauges and meters to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
    • Adjust controls to meet the demands for utilities provided.
    • Log plant operations and maintain equipment in good working order.
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, including rotating machinery, steam systems, compressed gases, and water treatment systems.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Water Treatment and Quality Control
    • Treat cooling tower and boiler water with chemicals and analyze water quality.
    • Monitor and maintain water treatment systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Housekeeping and Safety
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
    • Identify and report potential safety hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • American Society of Power Engineers, Power Plant Engineers 3rd Class Operator License preferred.
    • TCPA Class A and Class B UST Training Certification preferred.
  • Skills and Experience
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with computer software programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Knowledge of Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System software (CMMS) preferred.
Work Environment

The Plant Operations Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals. The successful candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs, squat, bend, stoop, and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, and stand for long periods of time.
