Job Overview

The Cost Management Specialist plays a crucial role in identifying, planning, executing, and overseeing initiatives aimed at reducing supply chain expenses, with a primary focus on minimizing MBOM costs.



Primary Responsibilities

1. Leads and coordinates collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to develop, communicate, and implement cost-saving initiatives.

2. Analyzes cost structures throughout the supply chain to identify improvement opportunities, employing data-driven strategies to manage expenses effectively.

3. Ensures the effective execution of cost reduction strategies by developing and meticulously managing integrated master schedules, risk assessments, and action item lists across functions.

4. Works closely with suppliers to reduce costs and enhance overall supply chain efficiency, aiming to eliminate waste.

5. Aids in negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, streamline processes, and guarantee the availability of cost-effective materials.

6. Investigates opportunities for bulk purchasing, long-term agreements, and strategic alliances to achieve significant cost savings.

7. Implements strategies that align with organizational objectives to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

8. Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress towards cost reduction goals and adjusts strategies as necessary.

9. Prepares and presents recommendations for management review, feedback, and decision-making.

10. Remains updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge in cost management.

11. Acts as the primary liaison for cost-related matters between the Business Office and internal stakeholders.

12. Ensures adherence to procurement guidelines, company policies, and strategic objectives.

13. Complies with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including those pertaining to procurement and intellectual property rights.



Qualifications and Skills

1. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or Business Administration.

2. At least 5 years of experience in procurement with a proven track record of achieving cost reductions.

3. Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or project management within the aviation or aerospace manufacturing sector is preferred but not mandatory.

1. Exceptional writing skills with experience in presenting information to varied audiences.

2. Comprehensive understanding of product development, qualification, and production launch processes.

3. Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP, Teamcenter, and cost analysis software is advantageous.

5. Strong leadership capabilities.

6. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage with all levels of internal stakeholders.

7. Strong interpersonal skills for fostering relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
