The role emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service while accurately communicating patients' dietary preferences and needs to the FNS staff. Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the assembly of meal trays on the tray line.
  • Verify patient meal tickets and ensure the accuracy of meal trays.
  • Assist in food preparation, utilizing various kitchen equipment, measuring ingredients, and adhering to dietary specifications.
  • Maintain and replenish supplies on the tray line and support additional duties as required.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment, following all departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Implement Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures to uphold sanitation and safety measures, maintaining records as per departmental guidelines.
  • Support the delivery of meals to patients.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of floor stock.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, their families, nursing staff, and the FNS Department.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Capability to interpret and follow patient meal tickets.
  • Ability to read and execute written instructions and recipes.
  • Familiarity with hospital dietary orders.
  • Competence in using proper phone etiquette and following established protocols.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
  • Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or one or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Nutrition, Registered Dietetic Technician, or formal nutrition training.
  • Experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
