The role emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service while accurately communicating patients' dietary preferences and needs to the FNS staff. Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the assembly of meal trays on the tray line.
- Verify patient meal tickets and ensure the accuracy of meal trays.
- Assist in food preparation, utilizing various kitchen equipment, measuring ingredients, and adhering to dietary specifications.
- Maintain and replenish supplies on the tray line and support additional duties as required.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment, following all departmental and regulatory standards.
- Implement Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures to uphold sanitation and safety measures, maintaining records as per departmental guidelines.
- Support the delivery of meals to patients.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of floor stock.
- Act as a liaison between patients, their families, nursing staff, and the FNS Department.
Essential Skills:
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Capability to interpret and follow patient meal tickets.
- Ability to read and execute written instructions and recipes.
- Familiarity with hospital dietary orders.
- Competence in using proper phone etiquette and following established protocols.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
- Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, or one or more years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Nutrition, Registered Dietetic Technician, or formal nutrition training.
- Experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
