Position Overview:
IRIS Consulting Corporation is in search of a dedicated Information Security Specialist to join our team. This role involves performing thorough evaluations of data systems, including their infrastructure, policies, and procedures, to ensure compliance with various security standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive audits of data systems to ensure adherence to federal security guidelines.
2. Ensure compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards.
3. Implement best practices for data security concerning driver's license and motor vehicle information.
4. Serve as the primary liaison for information security matters.

Local Agency Security Officer (LASO) Duties:
The LASO will represent the organization in all security-related matters, disseminate security alerts, and maintain essential documentation, including system configuration files.

Audit and Compliance:
Assist in security audits and hardware evaluations, ensuring all background check compliance is met for project team members. Evaluate architecture interfacing with other systems and assess the security of necessary equipment.

Documentation and Reporting:
Provide written documentation and recommendations based on audits and evaluations. Review network diagrams and access control lists for compliance with established security policies.

Technical Guidance:
Offer technical insights and best practices to guide infrastructure design and system implementations, ensuring compliance with security policies.

Identity and Access Management:
Audit identity and access management processes to ensure proper management and maintenance for all systems accessing sensitive data.

Collaboration:
Work with various agencies to ensure data accessibility while maintaining security requirements. Analyze security needs for all projects and systems interfacing with our systems.

Desired Qualifications:
- A minimum of six years in a security architect or engineer role.
- Experience in network engineering, including firewall management.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing information systems with a focus on security.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP or GIAC are preferred.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and systems engineering.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to convey complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.
