Position Summary: This role is pivotal in cultivating a grassroots initiative among instructors and key influencers in the sport, advocating for our products and the PD culture, and establishing strong relationships with these individuals and teams to develop brand ambassadors worldwide in support of the PD Brand and Culture.
- Oversee Sponsorship Program
- Manage Athlete Relations - Renew current agreements, evaluate and process new sponsorship applications, and monitor the conduct and performance of sponsored athletes.
- Administer Sponsorship Budget - Establish budgetary guidelines, control expenditures, and allocate resources effectively.
- Coordinate Sponsorship Gear - Assess and distribute gear to sponsored athletes, manage the retirement or resale of equipment, place orders for new supplies, and oversee payment and shipping logistics.
- Enhance Relationships with Sponsored Athletes - Engage with sponsored athletes, request, analyze, archive, and manage quarterly updates, media submissions, and create sponsorship newsletters, while distributing event attendance and support requests to tour representatives.
- Participate in Competitive Events - Attend national championships, FAI category 1 & 2 events, and other significant skydiving competitions to foster goodwill with event organizers, communicate with athletes, and manage vendor and event support.
- Conduct Sponsored Athlete Surveys - Develop new surveying tools based on current marketing needs, apply these tools to sponsored athletes, and gather, analyze, and share relevant findings internally.
- Execute Additional Tasks Related to Sponsorship Program as Directed by Marketing Manager
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A background in skydiving is essential.
Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases is required.
Familiarity with standard online social networking platforms is necessary.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is a must.
Exceptional verbal communication skills are required.
Strong text editing skills and a solid foundation in grammar are essential.
Basic financial knowledge and understanding of budget management principles are necessary.
Ability to multitask and organize work efficiently is crucial.
Education and Experience Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Customer Service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
3 to 5 years of experience in Marketing or Customer Service, preferably within a skydiving manufacturing context.
Physical Requirements
Dexterity in fingers, hands, and arms is necessary for data entry and report creation.
Visual acuity is required to perform all job functions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for interaction with all levels of Performance Designs, Inc. staff, customers, vendors, dealers, and media.
Legible handwriting is required for completing necessary documentation.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift for extended periods is essential.
