Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in Montgomery, AL. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, including diesel engines, transmissions, and brakes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support.
  • Perform advanced skilled level repairs, including major engine repairs, diesel after-treatment, and automotive fuel injection repairs.
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions.
  • Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Coach and mentor other technicians to improve their skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
  • Four years or more relevant work experience preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
  • All other certifications as required by location.
