Certified Nursing Assistant

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides essential care and support to patients under the supervision of licensed nurses. This role is responsible for assisting residents/patients with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, ensuring comfort and safety, and promoting overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Assist residents/patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Aid residents/patients with mobility and transfers, including walking, using a wheelchair, and repositioning in bed.
- Support residents/patients with nutritional needs by feeding them, providing assistance with eating, and monitoring food intake.
- Aid residents/patients with medication reminders.
- Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, weight, and respiration rates, and document and report any abnormal results or significant changes to nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident/patient information.
- Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Follow proper infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
- Adhere to safety guidelines to prevent falls, accidents, and injuries to residents/patients and self.
- Recognize and report any potential hazards or safety concerns in the resident's/patient's environment.
- Complete echocardiograms (EKGs) as directed if properly trained and participate in regularly scheduled competency trainings.
- Participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
