Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing nursing care to inmates in a correctional setting. The incumbent will work under immediate supervision and be responsible for distributing medications, processing refill requests, and monitoring floor stock medications. The position requires the ability to work independently, function under pressure, and establish cooperative working relationships with supervisors, custody, medical staff, and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Distribute medications to inmates
  • Process refill requests and new medication orders
  • Monitor and order floor stock medications
  • Assist medical providers during inmate appointments
  • Respond to potential medical emergencies
Requirements
  • Reliable and able to work independently
  • Ability to function under pressure
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Significant inmate contact
