Job Title: Buyer III

First Solar is seeking a highly skilled Buyer III to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for obtaining bids and placing orders for supplies, materials, services, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure and manage the purchase of goods and services from suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers, with a focus on cost savings and improved cash flow.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring a high level of service and support.
  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and logistics, to ensure seamless execution of procurement activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 8 years of purchasing experience, or 5 years with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven track record of negotiating and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of MRP and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of engineering databases and specification changes with suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
