Job Summary:

Sutter Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Information Management Director to lead our local HIM operations. As the first point of contact for administrative, medical staff, and local regulatory issues, this individual will oversee the implementation of policies and procedures set by HIM Shared Services operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all local HIM operations, including staff training, coaching, and support.
  • Act as liaison between local hospital administration and HIM operations at Shared Services.
  • Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures set by HIM Shared Services operations.
  • Perform quality reviews and analysis to support internal controls, monitoring employee performance, and assisting with staff development, retention, and selection.

Requirements:

  • 8 years of recent relevant experience in health information management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge/awareness of all areas related to HIM Client Location Operations and how they interrelate.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques related to Document Imaging and Release of Information.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is 100% onsite in Santa Barbara, CA.

  • Competitive salary range: $53.59 to $80.39 per hour.
