Vascular Access Nurse

At Children's Health, we are seeking a skilled Vascular Access Nurse to join our team. As a Vascular Access Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and serving as an expert resource for establishing and maintaining optimum venous access. This includes evaluating patients for, and placing peripheral intravenous catheters, ultrasound-guided PIVs, midlines, and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) in our pediatric populations. You will also provide vascular access care based on the age-related needs of the patient and family, with consideration of their development/psychosocial needs, environmental safety, education needs, communication style, and level of understanding.
Responsibilities:
• Responds to vascular needs across the hospital.
• VA nurses function as part of a team to provide service 24/7.
• Promotes vessel health and preservation by education hospital staff and families.
• Trains hospital staff in right site access.
• Specialized training to perform vascular procedure.
• Work towards VA-BC by 2 years of service on the team.
