Position Overview
The Mortgage Financing Specialist will be primarily responsible for the origination of mortgage loans, focusing on the Northshore market. This role involves taking applications, conducting initial underwriting assessments, and submitting loan requests for processing and approval. The specialist will ensure timely collection of necessary documentation from relevant sources for processing, underwriting, and closing.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with potential and existing clients to assess their borrowing requirements.
• Clarify the various mortgage approval criteria and tailor lending packages to meet client needs.
• Assist clients in completing mortgage applications, ensuring all documents are accurate and complete.
• Evaluate loan applications, compile credit histories, and analyze the applicant's repayment capacity and risk of default.
• Establish and nurture relationships with local real estate agents, developers, and builders to promote bank services for residential mortgages.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage loan origination is required.
• Proficient understanding of underwriting standards for FNMA, FMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning laws, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, and energy audit requirements.
