Position Overview
The Commercial Loan Officer plays a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing strong connections with all stakeholders involved in commercial lending transactions. This position is crucial for driving sales through the development of innovative and attractive loan offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in the acquisition and retention of commercial clientele, conducting meetings with potential and existing customers of varying sizes and complexities to meet established sales objectives with minimal oversight.
- Enhance knowledge of commercial lending products and services, including loan policies, documentation processes, structuring, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collect pertinent financial and business information, perform necessary financial evaluations for credit assessments, contribute to team credit discussions, and effectively communicate with clients to finalize sales.
- Expand and strengthen a network of external referral sources to generate new business opportunities.
- Ensure all activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational guidelines.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in originating various loan products, including first and second mortgages, construction financing, and home equity lines of credit.
- Familiarity with wholesale lending and rate sheets, as well as comprehensive underwriting knowledge from origination through to loan closing and construction disbursements.
