Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Protective Services Worker to join our team in John Day. As a key member of our Child Welfare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Oregon's children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations into allegations of child abuse and neglect, gathering information and making informed decisions to ensure the child's safety.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and community partners, providing support and guidance to help them achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement effective case plans, working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure the child's needs are met.
  • Provide trauma-informed care, using a culturally responsive approach to support children and families in overcoming adversity.
  • Document all interactions and case activities, maintaining accurate and detailed records to inform decision-making and ensure accountability.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field, or equivalent experience and training.
  • One year of experience in a human services role, preferably in child welfare or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
