Facilities Maintenance Specialist
Location:
John Day, Oregon
Employment Status:
Full-Time, Non-exempt (40 hours per week)
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (includes 1-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks). Schedule may be adjusted based on management needs, with potential for overtime on specific projects, subject to prior approval.
Supervision:
This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager, with oversight from the Chief Operating Officer as necessary.
Compensation:
Salary based on experience:
- Maintenance Specialist I: $25.73 per hour
- Maintenance Specialist II: $30.34 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
This role encompasses a variety of tasks to maintain both the interior and exterior of the facilities, including but not limited to:
1. Lawn care: mowing, edging, and landscape maintenance.
2. Weed control: pulling or spraying as necessary.
3. Irrigation: managing and maintaining the underground sprinkler system.
4. General maintenance: repairing buildings, floors, and stairs.
5. Equipment upkeep: maintaining and repairing tools and machinery.
6. Safety: conducting fire drills and reporting hazards.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Ability to pass a criminal background check and possess a valid driver's license.
3. Proven experience in maintenance or a related field.
4. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
2. Strong organizational and time management skills.
3. Creative problem-solving abilities.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, bend, and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment:
Work will be conducted at various properties, with both indoor and outdoor tasks involved.
