As a Clinical Psychologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide psychological testing, counseling, and evaluations to defined populations. Your expertise will be utilized to assess patients, develop treatment plans, and provide therapy to adults and/or adolescents and children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, score, and interpret psychometric and projective tests, as well as other psychodiagnostic techniques and behavior observations.
- Provide treatment to adults and/or adolescents and children, including initial interviews, assessments, and therapy sessions.
- Determine the urgency of members' needs and provide professional interpretations of their presentations, recommending a course of therapeutic action and selecting appropriate treatment modalities.
- Rend immediate guidance and therapy for members in crisis or in need of clinical services, maintaining written records of therapy and preparing reports and letters as needed.
- Collaborate with social agencies, schools, relatives, and friends to obtain pertinent information, and provide telephone assessment, counseling, resource information, and referrals as required.
- Transmit diagnostic and assessment information to referring professionals through verbal and written reports, and may conduct program evaluation to assess quality of care and cost-effectiveness of clinical procedures.
- May provide case management services to defined populations, offer consultation and inservice training to other mental health professionals, and conduct research on human behavior and possible methods for eliminating psychological disorders.
- Doctorate degree from an APA-accredited doctorate program with specialization in a field of clinical or counseling psychology.
- Two or more years of post-graduate experience in a behavioral health setting, or a pre-doctoral internship, post-doctoral internship, or fellowship at Kaiser Permanente.
- Psychologist License (California).
- Internship in an APA-approved program.
- Experience in assessing for child/adult ASD and ADHD.
This is a full-time position with a variable shift, working 40 hours per week. The worker location must align with Kaiser Permanente's Authorized States policy, and the work location is on-site at a KP location with the flexibility to work from home.
