Overview:
The City Infrastructure Operations Manager oversees significant and varied teams responsible for the construction and upkeep of municipal assets within public rights of way. This role includes supervising the maintenance and repair of the city's road network, which encompasses the restoration and upkeep of pavement surfaces, sidewalks, bicycle paths, traffic control signage, guardrails, fencing, pavement markings, street lighting, traffic signals, and the management of trees, graffiti, and weed control within public areas.
Responsibilities:
- For the Stormwater Division, this position is accountable for the daily operations and management of street sweeping and optimization initiatives, storm pump stations, channel dredging, and inspections and cleaning of pipes and drains.
- Oversee in-house construction teams for Capital Improvement Projects and execute additional duties as required.
- In the Transportation Division, manage deferred maintenance and Capital Improvement Projects, act as a subject matter expert on claims and litigation concerning maintenance and repairs, address resident complaints, and oversee human resources functions.
- Responsible for the procurement and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, as well as assisting in the development, tracking, and monitoring of the division's budget and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a minimum of four years of full-time experience coordinating public facility or utility construction and maintenance projects. This experience should include four years of planning, assigning, and supervising multiple crews within a major unit or division engaged in the construction, maintenance, or repair of streets, water, sewer, parks, public rights-of-way, or public facilities. Supervisory experience must encompass a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including planning and scheduling work, employee selection, training, evaluation, commendations, and disciplinary actions.
Additional Requirements:
- A valid California Class C Driver License is required upon hire.
- Proficiency in computer software, including Word and Excel, is highly desirable.
- Experience with Field Mobile Device Units and Work Order Management Systems is also preferred.
