Position Overview
The Nurse Manager for Same Day Surgery and PACU plays a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in overseeing all nursing and designated patient care functions within the hospital. This position is responsible for the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practices at the unit level. The Nurse Manager will maintain 24/7 accountability for the assigned areas, ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, as well as effective resource management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an active and current registered nurse license in the state of practice.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating proven leadership and operational capabilities within a hospital setting.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession.
Onboarding Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment health screening, which includes a drug test.
Qualifications
Education
- Required: Academic degree in nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing.
Experience
- Required: Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment, either as a manager or in a full-time charge nurse position.
Certifications
- Required: Current licensure, certification, or registration to practice nursing as mandated by state law, along with CPR certification.
