We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Compliance Specialist to join our team at Stanford Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our risk and compliance team, you will play a crucial role in administering our Compliance Program.

Job Description

This position is responsible for conducting regular assessments of the organization's compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures. You will prepare and maintain compliance reports and documentation for internal stakeholders, identify compliance gaps, and recommend corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular assessments of the organization's compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Risk Assessment: Analyze credit union processes and operations to identify potential risks, evaluate the effectiveness of existing risk mitigation strategies (controls), and propose improvements.
  • Regulatory Research: Stay updated on changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, interpret and communicate regulatory changes to relevant departments, assist in implementing compliance measures to address regulatory updates.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree; or at least two years of equivalent experience for each year of school not completed.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of specialized experience in either Risk or Compliance area within a financial institution.
  • Training, certification, or other accreditation in the areas of regulatory compliance, such as Certified Credit Union Compliance Specialist (CUCS), Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP), etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit union operations.
  • In-depth analytical and judgment skills to perform intensive fact-finding, investigating, and solving major complex issues or problems.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $83,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • 100% paid employee medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D and short-term disability insurance for the employee; 50% paid for dependents.
  • Quarterly incentives up to 10% of your salary (based on position).
  • Employer 401(k) matching up to 5% plus additional annual discretionary contributions.
  • Education reimbursement up to $5,200/year.
  • Paid Sick Time accrues at two weeks per year.
  • Paid Vacation Time accrues at three weeks per year.
