Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and Operations Manager, the Warehouse Lead person directs the operational activities of the Warehouse to include scheduling, training and supervising.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the Warehouse operates in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all established safety, health, quality, Food Safety, GMP and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
  • Assist in training warehouse employees to ensure they understand and correctly complete their work assignments.
  • Monitor and report the performance of each assigned warehouse employee.
  • Provide leadership and direction to warehouse employees, prioritizing, coordinating and assigning daily warehouse work to department staff.
  • Ensure that employees fully understand and correctly complete the work assigned, utilizing personnel at all times to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Process all necessary reports, including those related to warehouse equipment and inventory maintenance.
  • Communicate with outside vendors on details pertaining to shipping and receiving, and on maintenance and repairs of material and equipment.
  • Report all unsafe operating conditions, practices and personnel to supervisor.
  • Ensure work area meets 5S guidelines and maintain all required warehouse documentation.
Qualifications
  • Requires education generally equivalent to four years of high school.
  • Requires five years of experience in a warehouse environment to become familiar with products, equipment and processes.
  • Requires the ability to train and guide employees and ensure quality performance and standards.
  • Good leadership, verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Requires the ability to operate a forklift and to obtain a forklift operators license.
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds, and tolerate exposure to factory noise, and changing climate conditions.
  • Requires computer skills.
