Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant to join our team as a Lead Medical Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and guiding designated practice Assistants and Associates, administering para-professional nursing care, and coordinating patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide the performance of staff, providing feedback to supervisors for performance appraisals.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate and implement patient care plans, recording patient history for medical staff review.
  • Perform measurement and screening procedures according to protocol, including height, weight, head circumference, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, audiometry, and vision testing.
  • Collect blood specimens and assist physicians or nurses in collection as required, completing requisitions, labeling, and routing specimens according to standard procedure.
  • May perform electrocardiograms in accordance with physician orders, assisting physicians and nurses with special procedures and examinations.
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms, stocking assigned rooms and cupboards, and ensuring par levels of supplies are maintained.
  • Ensure accurate and clear recording of data collected for procedures performed on appropriate forms and in medical records.
  • Perform administrative support functions, including maintaining medical records, processing insurance forms, and preparing financial records.
Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of Medical Assisting program at an accredited school. 5-7 years of relevant experience required. Additional specialized certifications as needed.
