Job Summary

The primary objective of this position is to implement a well-defined process to ensure that contractual expectations and objectives are met as it relates to information technology and telecommunications service and material providers.

Manage the development, negotiation, and implementation of major technology and telecommunications related contracts, leveraging spend, and continuing to re-source recurring contractual commitments on a recurring cycle. Manage emergent project work in support of operations and manage key supplier relationships.

Work closely with technology and telecommunication firms to ensure warranties, transfer of ownership, and other contractual agreements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assure continuity of supply for all key contracted materials and services
  • Manage technically complex projects and commercial negotiations that occur regularly in support of maintenance and operations
  • Manage contracts for various information technology and telecommunications projects, including managing change orders, claims, and back charges, asserting warranty claims, developing methods for assessing contractor performance, dispute resolution, and implementing processes and controls for protecting and preserving the Company's contractual rights and remedies
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate innovative contracting strategies and solutions with client personnel, assist in clearly and completely defining the scope of work, and assess the qualifications and capabilities of contractors through RFPs or other processes for smaller engagements between $1.5M to $10M or larger engagements greater than $10M
  • Lead all commercial negotiations

Requirements:

  • B.S./B.A. Degree and 6 years large contract management experience
  • Without a degree, 10 years of large contract management experience
  • 2-3 years IT and telecommunications service management experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, are mandatory, as well as a sound understanding of technology and telecommunications projects and scheduling
  • Demonstrated ability to assess contractual risk and implement risk management strategies, implement measures and methods to tie payment to performance, monitor and manage cost and change, define and manage deliverables and respective responsibilities between the Company and the contractor
  • Valid driver's license
  • Demonstrated excellent negotiating skills
  • Demonstrated excellent project management skills
