Position Overview:

The Registered Sleep Technologist plays a crucial role in diagnosing and managing sleep disorders among patients. This position operates under direct supervision, conducting sleep monitoring and analysis to enhance patients' sleep quality and overall health, while adhering to the guidelines set forth by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and configure sleep study equipment and monitoring devices for patients undergoing assessments.
2. Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including collecting medical histories and sleep-related information.
3. Monitor physiological parameters during sleep studies, including brain activity, heart rate, respiratory patterns, and oxygen saturation.
4. Educate patients on the sleep study process, the importance of sleep hygiene, and adherence to treatment protocols.
5. Collaborate with sleep medicine specialists and healthcare teams to analyze sleep study findings and recommend treatment options.
6. Participate in the administration and adjustment of various therapies, including Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) modalities such as Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), Bilevel, Adaptive Servo Ventilation (ASV), and Inspire Fine Tuning.
7. Conduct assessments on pediatric patients, with and without capnography.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

Education:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a clinical rotation in polysomnography.

Experience and Certification:
Required: Registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a RPSGT; registered by the North Carolina Medical Board as a BRPT; BLS (CPR) certification from the American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.

Work Environment:
This position is based onsite and requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a collaborative healthcare setting.
