Position Overview:
The Registered Sleep Technologist plays a vital role in the assessment and management of sleep disorders among patients. This position involves close collaboration with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and configure sleep study equipment and monitoring tools for patient evaluations.
2. Conduct thorough patient assessments by collecting medical histories and sleep-related information.
3. Monitor physiological parameters during sleep studies, including brain activity, heart rate, respiratory patterns, and oxygen saturation.
4. Educate patients regarding the sleep study process, sleep hygiene practices, and the significance of adhering to treatment protocols.
5. Collaborate with sleep medicine specialists to analyze sleep study findings and propose treatment strategies.
6. Assist in the implementation and adjustment of various therapies, including Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Adaptive Servo Ventilation (ASV).
7. Conduct assessments on pediatric patients, utilizing capnography when necessary.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental objectives.

Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a clinical rotation in polysomnography is required.
Experience and Certification:
Must be registered with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a RPSGT and possess certification from the North Carolina Medical Board. BLS (CPR) certification from the American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider is also required.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily onsite, contributing to the patient care team in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.
