Position Overview:

The Registered Sleep Technologist plays a vital role in the assessment and management of sleep disorders. This position involves working closely with patients to ensure accurate sleep monitoring and analysis, ultimately enhancing their sleep quality and overall health.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and configure sleep study equipment and monitoring devices for patient assessments.
2. Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including gathering detailed medical histories and sleep-related information.
3. Monitor and record patients' physiological data during sleep studies, focusing on brain activity, heart rate, respiratory patterns, and oxygen saturation levels.
4. Educate patients about the sleep study process, the importance of sleep hygiene, and adherence to treatment plans.
5. Collaborate with sleep medicine specialists and healthcare teams to analyze sleep study findings and recommend appropriate treatments.
6. Participate in the administration and adjustment of various therapies, including Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Adaptive Servo Ventilation (ASV).
7. Conduct assessments on pediatric patients, utilizing capnography when necessary.
8. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a clinical rotation in polysomnography.

Experience and Certifications:
Required: Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT); licensure by the North Carolina Medical Board; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.

Work Environment:
This position is onsite and requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
