About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Officer to join our team at Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC). As a Program Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of community development programs, with a focus on community investment and engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, trainings, and workshops to drive program priorities and implementation.
  • Provide technical assistance to community-based organizations and partners, and facilitate project-specific support.
  • Prepare and oversee grants and contracts for programs, including administering government and private grants, managing contracted partners, and monitoring grant performance.
  • Track and evaluate progress on programmatic milestones, conducting research and analyzing data to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, including private funder narrative and financial reports, compliance reports, and other required reports.
  • Support the Executive Team in developing and launching new programmatic initiatives, including drafting concept papers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, including funders, community organizations, businesses, government officials, and anchor institutions.
Program Responsibilities
  • Support the successful development, execution, and alignment of the Associates in Commercial Real Estate (ACRE) program, including alumni support, networking events, and continuing education opportunities.
  • Coordinate fund development for the ACRE program and related initiatives, including funder identification, cultivation, grant writing, and reports.
  • Administer financial resources for ACRE alumni, emerging and diverse developers, and nonprofit partners, including management of a $1 million local recoverable grant/loan pool.
  • Develop and disseminate resources, including how-to guides, case studies, and articles, to support community development efforts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or relevant work experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in real estate, finance, community development, small business development, or related disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of community development policies and programs, as well as the economic, political, and social environments in Milwaukee.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with clients and co-workers.
  • Excellent research, writing, editing, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and use other software and applications.
