Chief Academic Officer

Milwaukee Area Technical College is seeking a highly qualified Chief Academic Officer to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, the Chief Academic Officer will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the college's academic programs and services.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in an academic discipline related to one of the college's academic pathways. They will also have seven or more years of senior-level experience or progressive experience with faculty or instructional support personnel in a large, complex organization, preferably in post-secondary education.
The Chief Academic Officer will oversee the planning, design, conduct, evaluation, creation, and elimination of all instructional programs and instructional support activities of the district. They will also provide administrative leadership and direction to the college's teaching, learning, and public service programs.
The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire trust and camaraderie in employees, colleagues, and the community. They will also have a proven track record of success in leading without direct authority and understanding of a matrixed management environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the college's academic programs and services
- Oversee the planning, design, conduct, evaluation, creation, and elimination of all instructional programs and instructional support activities of the district
- Provide administrative leadership and direction to the college's teaching, learning, and public service programs
- Develop and manage high-performing teams with highly skilled and motivated staff focused on the delivery of quality and value-added services
- Establish, maintain, and enhance positive work relationships with staff, faculty, administrators, outside agencies, parents, and students
Requirements:
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in an academic discipline related to one of the college's academic pathways
- Seven or more years of senior-level experience or progressive experience with faculty or instructional support personnel in a large, complex organization, preferably in post-secondary education
