Job Title: Capital Management Associate

8 Rivers is a leading clean energy and climate technology company seeking a highly skilled Capital Management Associate to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in analyzing data, developing financial models, and making informed decisions to enhance the company's and specific development project's financial health and strategic goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Financial Analysis and Modeling: Develop and refine financial models for technologies and projects, creating scenarios and sensitivities to inform decision-making for project leads and executive management.
  • Market and Economic Research: Conduct fundamental research on commodity markets, equipment markets, and government incentives to validate and verify financial model inputs and establish the basis for scenarios and sensitivity analysis.
  • Support Strategic Transactions, including Capital Raising: Prepare internal analysis to explain pro forma financials for technologies and projects, support preparation of investor presentations, and lead working-level role in diligence processes for potential investors.
  • Capital Structure Analysis: Develop supporting quantitative and qualitative analysis for different investment structures for 8 Rivers' TopCo and potential ProjectCo's or TechnologyCo's.
  • Performance Reporting: Support the Finance team in reporting performance of projects.
  • Budget Support: Support budget process, ensuring forward-looking pro formas match near-term execution plans from business development and execution teams.
  • Origination and Client-facing Activities: Outreach to potential clients and/or investors in coordination with the Business Development team, managing relationships on an ongoing basis to support participation in potential future transactions.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, capital management, corporate finance, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, manipulate and present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to influence and align internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience taking initiatives or projects from inception to launch.
  • Ability to learn quickly and gaining expertise in unfamiliar topics.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite at our Durham, NC office 4-5 days/week.
