Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Lead Educator to oversee our late afternoon program at the Montessori School of Charlottesville.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of Montessori philosophy in the afternoon program, promoting social-emotional development and a nurturing environment for children.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom and outdoor space that reflects the principles of Montessori education.
  • Develop engaging activities and routines tailored to the needs of children in the afternoon program, fostering their cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing standards and regulations, guaranteeing a high-quality educational experience for students.
  • Establish a strong work ethic, demonstrating reliability, consistency, and flexibility in daily tasks and responsibilities.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; early childhood certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with young children in a leadership role, exhibiting a genuine love and understanding of child development.
  • An ability to adapt to changing circumstances, think critically, and make sound decisions.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range estimated at $40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we provide health and dental benefits for employees working over 25 hours per week, 5 days PTO annually, and paid holidays (21 days per school year).
