Job Summary

The Department of Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Surveyor Party Chief to join our team. As a key member of our survey crew, you will be responsible for supervising, planning, and coordinating daily operations, while performing a wide range of professional land surveying work in a field setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a field survey crew
  • Plan and execute complex survey projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with senior surveyors to develop and implement survey strategies
  • Conduct site visits to assess survey needs and provide technical guidance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
Requirements
  • Duly licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor or Land Surveyor in Training
  • Valid driver's license required for operating state-owned or leased vehicles
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including wet, dusty, and dirty environments
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel to project locations and work overtime as needed
