Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Director, Legal Counsel to join our Legal Department. This role will provide critical legal support across the organization, with primary responsibility for defined functional areas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare law, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Draft and negotiate complex healthcare-related contracts, including clinical trial agreements, investigator-initiated study agreements, and contract research organization (CRO) agreements.
- Provide expert advice on contract preparation, Company rights, and obligations under executed agreements.
- Draft and negotiate distribution agreements, payor agreements, and specialty pharma purchase agreements.
- Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and international healthcare laws and regulations, including global privacy (GDPR), California Privacy Act, FCPA, and anti-bribery laws.
- JD degree and admission to at least one state bar, with California bar admission or Registered In-House Counsel required.
- Minimum 6 years of experience as in-house counsel or associate at a major law firm, with a background in biotechnology, pharma, or healthcare-related matters.
- Detailed-oriented with high intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility and flexibility.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to draft and review legal documents, analyze legal advice, and apply it to business needs.
- Ability to form strong working relationships with all levels of management, employees, and partners while maintaining firm adherence to proper legal standards.
