Role Summary:

The On-Site Revenue Cycle Management Coordinator is instrumental in supervising critical components of the revenue cycle framework. This position leads a substantial team of both direct and indirect reports engaged in front-end financial clearance and back-end billing and collections for services provided. The Coordinator will provide strategic leadership, set productivity benchmarks, evaluate team performance, mentor supervisors and indirect reports, identify process inefficiencies that may lead to revenue loss, and propose corrective actions. This role serves as the primary liaison for the partnership between Colorado Retina Associates and the Revenue Cycle Management Director, ensuring that organizational and corporate objectives are met in a timely manner. Regular reporting to the Chief Operating Officer will be required to maintain transparency in revenue cycle operations and uphold compliance with CMS and other regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with practice and corporate leadership to devise and execute revenue cycle strategies aimed at enhancing cash flow, minimizing denials, and improving overall revenue outcomes.
  • Assist in formulating and implementing action plans to address gaps and achieve business performance metrics, while maintaining the RCM tracking system.
  • Support the adoption of best practices and industry benchmarks in revenue cycle management to achieve superior results.
  • Ensure adherence to departmental budgetary constraints.
  • Oversee supervisors and team members within the RCM department, responsible for performance management, recruitment, and disciplinary actions.
  • Work with colleagues across various departments to optimize processes and address revenue cycle challenges.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of productivity and processes, implementing revisions as necessary.
  • Monitor aged accounts to ensure appropriate collection procedures are adhered to.
  • Propose solutions that align with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies regarding credit balances.
  • Manage patient inquiries related to billing, collections, referrals, and authorizations.
  • Oversee the write-off process, approving adjustments after thorough review and all efforts have been exhausted.
  • Review financial hardship applications for compliance with regulatory standards; approve or deny based on established criteria.
  • Foster an inclusive work environment that emphasizes collaboration, cooperation, and a commitment to patient-centered excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree and/or a combination of education and experience.
  • Five to seven years of leadership experience is required; experience in medical billing and prior authorizations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with NextGen, EPM, Nextech EMR, or similar platforms is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in billing practices.
  • Strong skills in process improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead by example, maintain composure in high-pressure situations, and communicate effectively.
  • Experience with leadership methodologies, motivational techniques, and coaching principles.

Salary Range: $74,066.79
