Job Summary

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for providing support for Benefits and Retirement Plan Administration at Northwest Bank.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and company policies.
  • Manage benefits administration processes, including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, and accident and death claims.
  • Oversee the open enrollment process and ensure timely and accurate completion of required documentation.
  • Verify integrity of data in HRIS via audit reports and maintain current records with total document/data integrity.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for benefits processes and recommend improvements to procedures and service delivery enhancements.
  • Manage relationships with external benefits brokers and carriers and maintain contact with benefit companies to ensure benefits are processed accurately.
  • Provide education to employees on benefit offerings and oversee the Northwest Bank Wellness Program.
  • Design, recommend, and implement new benefits programs and prepare and send correspondence as required.
  • Process billing and payments, reconcile bills and accounts with payroll entries, and monitor file feeds for Benefit Enrollments and Terminations.
  • Authorize distributions and retirement distributions for the 401(k) and Pension Plan and provide Pension Plan estimates via third-party vendor.
  • Identify and resolve employee benefits and related issues and demonstrate ability to work well within multiple levels of the company and a diverse population of internal customers.
  • Manage personal workload/workflow, perform data entry, and minimize departmental non-payroll costs.
  • Maximize technology tools available and ensure compliance with Federal/State regulations and Northwest Bank policies and procedures.

Qualifications, Experience + Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of Employee Benefits experience preferred.
  • Able to demonstrate discretion with confidential information and detail-oriented.
